A letter to YXNU International Students Outside of China

亲爱的8188www威尼斯留学生同学们：
Dear YXNU International Students,
大家好！
这个时节，正是学校里樱花盛开的季节。往年的校园，图书馆前、三元楼前、文化长廊边，樱花、桃花竞相开放，映衬着大家学习的身影和笑脸。这个假期格外漫长，从1月份放假至今，已经有70多天没再见到同学们，我们十分想念大家。目前新冠肺炎疫情正在世界各地蔓延，学校在做好防控工作的同时，非常牵挂身在境外的每一位8188www威尼斯的留学生，希望各位同学和你们的家人都安好。你们的健康和安全是学校最大的关切，为了防止疫情扩散，确保自己和家人健康度过这一段时间，学校再一次提醒同学们：
  Cherry is blossoming this season at YXNU. Usually we may see your smiling faces and shadows of learning under the cherry trees and peach trees in front of the library, the Culture Corridor in front of SanYuan Building. However you are not here this spring. This winter holiday is too long. We have not seen you for more than 70 days since the holiday started in January. We miss all of you. COVID-19 spreads rapidly all over the world at present. Your health and safety has always been our primary concern. We sincerely hope that every student and your family can keep healthy to spend this difficult time. Here, we would like to provide the followings to overcome the difficulties together:
                             
  一、无论你在哪里，请一定高度重视，正确认识疫情，及时关注当地政府及卫生部门发布的相关信息、关注学校和学院微信群发送的防护知识。请大家不要害怕、不要畏惧，我们有句俗语“困难像弹簧，你强它就弱，你弱它就强”，面对新冠疫情，我们要提高信心，积极配合所在地政府部门开展的疫情防控措施，保护好自己的健康。
Wherever you are, please pay high attention to current information about COVID-19, the instructions and precautions issued by your local government, the health department and WeChat group of YXNU as well. Fear and resistance are unnecessary. There is a Chinese proverb, Difficulty likes spring, you weak it strong, and you strong it weak. We need to enhance confidence, actively cooperate with the local government and the health department, to protect our health.
                     
      一、我们知道，新冠肺炎主要通过呼吸道飞沫和接触传播。因此，有一些防范措施是需要我们认真采取的：避免到人多的地方参与活动；避免与呼吸道症状患者密切接触；减少家庭聚会、走亲访友和其他集体活动；请尽量避免乘坐公共交通工具；外出的时候请正确佩戴口罩，勤洗手、多通风、常运动；如果你出现发烧、咳嗽、呼吸困难等症状，请根据当地实际情况，寻求医疗帮助。
According to experts, COVID-19 is transmitted mainly through respiratory droplets and close contact. We need to take the following basic and necessary precautions: to avoid participating in activities in crowded places; to avoid keeping close contact with the person who has respiratory symptoms; to reduce gatherings with family members and friends; to wear masks correctly out doors, wash hands frequently, keep the room ventilated and exercise regularly. Please try not to take public transportation. If you have cough, fever, breathing difficulty and other symptoms, please seek medical assistance according to the actual situation.
二、乘坐飞机、高铁等交通工具极易引起交叉感染，为了减少感染风险，我们真诚地提示同学们：暂停出行安排，减少不必要的流动，让深爱你们的家人安心，让关心你们的老师放心。
we sincerely remind our students to avoid all nonessential travel to all of the countries as the risk is dependent on exposure and some travel-associated cases are infected during travel.
                                           
    四、这段时间，大家不能回到学校学习，大家也许要度过一段“宅家”时光。人生很短，也很长，这两三个月的时间只是我们一生学习中的一小段时间。我们知道，大家面对着HSK考级、毕业实习、毕业论文写作的情况，内心难免焦虑。学院的老师们时刻关注着大家的学习情况，用不同的线上方式指导大家继续学习、根据实际情况调整实习安排、开展线上论文写作指导等方式，消解大家的担心。学校会采取妥善的措施，解决大家的实际问题。不管有任何困惑或困难，都可告知学院的老师，我们的老师一定非常乐于向大家分享“宅家”技能和学习心得。
During this period, you can not come back to YXNU for study temporarily.You may have to spend a period of work-from-home. Lifetime is short, but sometimes it seems very long. This special period of study-at- home would be two or three months. As we know, some of you are preparing the HSK test, internship before graduation and graduation thesis writing. Our teachers always pay close attention to everyone's learning situation. In order to dispel your concerns, we offer you guidance to continue learning in different online ways, adjust internship arrangements according to the actual situation, and carry out online essay writing guidance. YXNU will take appropriate measures to solve your current problems. If you have any questions, please let us know. Our teachers will be very happy to share their experience of work-from-home.
五、目前学校还没有明确的开学时间，请大家耐心等待，在接到学校的通知之前暂不返回中国，不返回云南，不返回学校。学校将密切关注疫情发展情况以及上级教育部门的通知，也将随时与同学们保持联系，通报信息，也请同学们密切关注我们发布的相关通知。
We look forward to seeing you at YXNU. But the campus-returning decision must be made based on the premise of ensuring the safety of our students. So please stay at home, wait patiently before receiving our information. We will keep all of you posted and updated.
                                         
  团结就是力量。我们坚信眼下的困难是暂时的，无论身在何处，希望大家保持信心、保重身体，让我们手拉手，用爱筑起心的防疫，用积极健康的心态和坚定的行动共同战胜困难。
Unity is strength. We firmly believe that the current difficulties are temporary. No matter where you are, we hope that you can maintain confidence and take good care of yourself. Let us move on hands in hands with love, to overcome the difficulties with our positive attitude and determined action.
失去方知所得之珍贵。亲爱的同学们, 相信我们很快就可以在山花浪漫的校园重聚。
We never know what we have got are so precious until we lose it. We believe we will see you soon at YXNU in full of bloom.
